MusicLife™ lets you create a complete digital profile for every instrument, case, piece of equipment and accessory that you own. Profiles can include serial numbers, detailed photos and descriptions, proof-of-ownership documentation, insurance information and any other information you want to include.

MusicLife works with our exclusive TrackTag technology. TrackTags are Tempo’s suite of high tech ID stickers and RFID locating beacons. TrackTags attach safely and securely to your instruments, accessories and equipment to help you identify, locate and organize everything.

You can add an unlimited number of TrackTags to any item.

Create digital inventory checklists to help you organize your instruments, equipment, accessories, sheet music and other property, and be sure that you never leave anything behind. Checklists can include:

  • Items for specific gigs, rehearsals and auditions
  • Items for specific tours and trips
  • Anything that you need to keep organized or grouped together

Run inventory checks by scanning your items’ TrackTags, or visually check to confirm that all items are present. Scan items on your checklists using your Android mobile device or TrackTablet.

Every checklist has a detailed History page, including:

  • Time and date of each inventory check
  • Name of the user who completed each inventory check
  • Which items were present and missing for each inventory check

If you discover that items are missing later, review your inventory checks to figure out where and when it went missing. You can also create a Missing Item Report in the FindMe system.

Scanning TrackTags and Managing Item Profiles

Create complete custom profiles for any item, piece of equipment, tool or anything else. You can add an unlimited number of TrackTags to any item.

Scan any TrackTag to view the full profile of the item that the TrackTag is associated with. Easily edit and update item profiles using MusicLife’s native Android app or on MusicLife’s web-based desktop account management platform.

Inventory Checklists

Locations Management

Keep track of where your items and equipment are located in real time. Quickly update item locations with mobile devices for maximum efficiency and error-free inventory control.

MusicLife Business’s Locations Management page lets you add any location to your account. Examples:

  • Main St. Warehouse, Bay 6, Section A, Aisle 3, Shelf 9, Bin 4
  • Springfield Retail Branch, Storage Room, Row 5
  • Washington High School, Mrs. Smith’s Band Room 105, Top Shelf

MusicLife also lets you assign barcodes to locations. Attach MiniMatrix Tags to your locations to identify them, or use your own barcode labels.

Scan a location’s barcode with your Android mobile device camera, or with TrackTablet’s laser barcode scanner, to quickly update an item’s location or to see all of the items in that location.

Locate Items with RFID

Use TrackTablet’s long-range RFID scanner and AirTags to help you locate and identify items from up to 100 feet away.

Choose the item that you want to locate in Musiclife. When you come within scanning distance of the item’s AirTags your TrackTablet notifies you with visual and audible indicators that the item is within range. MusicLife then continues to display visual indicators on the screen to let you know as you are getting closer or farther away from the item until you locate it.

When you reach the item, MusicLife prompts you to scan the AirTag’s barcode with your TrackTablet’s laser barcode scanner. This helps you to confirm that you have located the correct item, and significantly reduces the possibility of human error.

The BorrowMe System and Transferring Ownership of Items

The BorrowMe™ system lets you share items in your account with other app users while they are renting or borrowing your items. The BorrowMe systems lets you closely monitor your rented and loaned items.

It also helps your borrowers to organize and keep track of your items while they rent, borrow or otherwise have possession of your items. This helps to ensure that your items are returned to you correctly and in the best possible condition.


Easily transfer ownership of item profiles to other MusicLife app users. When you sell an item, go to that item’s profile and search for the app user that you want to transfer ownership to. When the other user accepts ownership of the item, it is removed from your account and added to their account.

The FindMe System

The FindMe™ system is an interactive platform that helps individuals and businesses crowdsource recovery of lost and stolen property. Create Missing Item Reports that anyone can view on the public FindMe database.

MusicLife notifies you when anyone scans your missing item’s TrackTag or if they mark it as found. Communicate directly with other MusicLife users to arrange for return of your items when they are found.


Related Items

Connect related items together for easy reference. Examples:

  • A tool or piece of equipment and its case
  • Parts of an assembly that fit together
  • Sets of tools or any other set of items

Item profiles display links to any related items to simplify handling and increase worker efficiency. Click on a related item to view and edit its profile.

Activity Feeds

MusicLife Business lets you monitor employee activity and efficiency with detailed activity feeds for every member of your organization and for every item in your account. Activity feeds display the user that completed each action in your MusicLife account and a timestamp for when they completed the action.

Item activity feeds let you track and review actions taken for items to help prevent loss and to ensure that employees are completing workflows correctly and efficiently.
